Customer Reviews
My husband and I stopped into Ruth Hunt Candy Shop during a trip to Lexington. I remembered this little candy shop as a child but my husband had never been. Thry have been operating for iver a hundred years. We were delighted because it was Christmas and they had packaged tins and gifts available for purchase. Of course, we bought bourbon balls but we also bought some Blue Mondays to take home to our family. Blue Mondays are a confectionery delight that is unique only to Rebecca hunt candy shop. Our family thought it was the best thing they had ever tasted being the first time of having it. It simply melts in your mouth. Their Amaretto dark chocolate pecans are delicious without being overpowering. They also have other chocolates that are non-alcoholic. And usually, they carry in their col
Their pecan balls are good. Chocolates were neatly packed for gifts Their Sorghum cookies were fresh. They have some Kentucky based gift items too. Of course, little bit on the pricier side. But. 100 plus years old special store. 👍
I haven't actually been to this store, but Ruth Hunt candy is amazing. When I lived in Minnesota, my mother shipped me a big box of Blue Mondays since it is one of my favorite candy bars. Just to note, Rebecca Ruth and Ruth Hunt are different stores with different offerings. If you are looking for a Blue Monday, you want Ruth Hunt. 😊
I stopped at the location that is not in Frankfort and began in its location in 1961. I am soooo glad to stop, shop, and sampled an original Bourbon ball topped with a pecan. Delicious! The flavor tops other knockoffs, attempting to mimic the very best in Kentucky.
I was told orange fudge was seasonal, summer only by the lady behind the counter at Ruth Hunt, Lexington. They happened to have 3 packs of dreamsickle fudge which I quickly confiscated. Come on summer. Orange is the very best fudge.
