Sav’s Gourmet Ice Cream

We were in the area for Blue Door BBQ and decided to top off our brisket with some desert. To our surprise, Sav’s ice cream was exceptional. Definitely worthy of 5 star rating and a repeat to try out other flavors.

This place was great. The guy makes all his own ice cream. He has a lot of great flavors, he has traditional flavors such as mint chocolate chip, cookie dough, chocolate, strawberry. And more creative ones. Like spicy banana, honey bourbon, hibiscus, espresso. I got the Spanish peanut butter ice cream, it was amazing. I also got the chocolate raspberry, which was good too. The owner said the Spanish peanut butter flavor and chocolate almond coconut were his favorite flavors.

I just went there with my family and the ice cream was everything. TOP NOTCH! Mamadou is a heck of a host. Extremely FRIENDLY. Please do not go to Lexington without stopping there. The experience is amazing!!!!!

Ice cream is fresh made locally. Many interesting flavors such as spicy banana and Ale 8, in addition to the usual favorites such as Butter Pecan and Mint Chip. My significant other said "this is the pistachio flavor that I wish all other places had."

Sav’s was fun! Some inventive ice cream flavours and he’s a lovely guy. There weren’t any flavours I wanted personally (hence the 4/5 stars), but the wife got the Ale-8-One flavour and loved it (wasn’t for me). Basically this comes down to a difference of personal taste, but I can tell from the wife’s enthusiasm that it was excellent quality.
