Rotolo's Pizzeria

Stopped by on a mid day Sunday and the restaurant was empty but they gave us great service and fast delivery of our food. We ordered a calzone and a personal sized Muffuletta pizza. They were both sooo good! The calzone was extra delicious and had a very yummy marinara to dip it in. We even loved that they had special plastic Mardi Gras cups that we got to take home!

Rotolo's was a pleasant surprise. Wife and I was looking for a spare of moment lunch alternative to keep us from eating fast food. Instantly greeted when walk in, no wait time for table. We ordered a small pizza and a specialty calzone. Both were very delicious as we ate everything. Price was reasonable as was service. The only hangup I had was no soap in the restrooms and plastic throw away cups. I'm sure it was a festive thing and logistics for the cups. No soap for restrooms makes me wonder about cleanliness of staff and cooks.

First of all, our server was amazing! And that sets the mood to a great dinner. We love the Chalmette sticks! The Greek salad was super. It's not some Greek salads that just have lettuce and 3 tomatoes. No, it's loaded! We also got the Detroit pizza with pepperoni. It's pretty good! If you like Detroit style, then you will like theirs.

Worst Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had, my wife's pizza was in the top 4 greased pizzas we've ever had. We've been to the Rotollos in Slidell and the menu has many more choices. Also, the food in Slidell is far better. That said, our server, Heather, was friendly and took good care of us. I doubtvwe will go back to this location but we might give them a second chance sometime...

The Detroit style pizza is delicious and they are the only place I know of in the area that offers this style of pizza! I highly recommend getting the ricotta dip and the bacon mac & cheese pie as well. I also like their thin crust pizzas, but this time we just got the Detroit style and it was fabulous! Owner is incredibly nice and friendly as well. Short drive from uptown NOLA and easy to park!
