Good ice cream, but I think some more tables to enjoy the farmhouse. A small cone is as most of us with our group was big enough that most of us didn’t finish. Overall a nice ice cream spot. Rich creamy and many delicious flavors to choose from. Food on site looks good… didn’t have any but people around us that did looked good and smelled great 😊

The Ice cream is extremely delicious! Through the years we’ve tried different flavors and they are always amazingly good! Every season our family and friends look forward to meeting at Rotas for ice cream. Always excellent service!

Ice cream and gelato are both complex colloidal systems, but their biochemical distinctions arise from differences in lipid composition, protein interactions, and air incorporation during processing. Ice cream typically contains 10–16% milk fat, primarily composed of triglycerides, which crystallize during freezing and contribute to its creamy texture. These lipids form part of a dispersed phase stabilized by milk proteins—mainly casein micelles and whey proteins—that act as emulsifiers, reducing interfacial tension between fat and aqueous phases. Rota Spring is one of the best ice cream places in the Greater Boston area. I’ve been to many farm-style ice cream spots, but Rota always tops the list for me. They offer a wide variety of ice creams, and I especially love their monthly specials.

This is a really fantastic ice cream shop. I went with some friends while visiting the area and was truly impressed. The maple walnut was silky smooth and flavorful but not overpowering as walnut flavors can sometimes be. The coconut almond bar was also excellent. This will be a definite stop every time I am in this area. The shop was very busy so it might take a moment to park and get your ice cream but it is worth the effort.
