We returned after many years away based on recommendations from family saying the food had improved. Unfortunately, this visit reminded us why we stopped coming in the first place. We were a family of six with young children. Early on, four clam chowders came out cold and had to be sent back to be reheated — and even after that, they still were not hot. Appetizers followed and were lukewarm at best. The mussels tasted fishy and were prepared with jarred garlic rather than fresh, which was disappointing and noticeable. The calamari was soggy, and nothing arrived fresh or properly hot. When our entrées came out, multiple dishes were overcooked and still not hot. Both prime ribs were ordered medium/medium rare and came out closer to medium well. Lobster add-ons were rubbery. One entrée was

Was a great dining experience. I got a scallops dinner and a calamari appetizer. Was a nice setting. Food came out quickly and it was cooked perfect.

Can not say enough good things about Barbers Crossing. The food was spot on with so many amazing fun menu ideas and plenty of comfort food options. The staff was warm, inviting and attentive. It has a wonderful rustic charm inside.

Went here to celebrate my parent’s birthdays last night. WOW! The restaurant is giant. The menu is large and has good variety, too. We ordered the lemon pepper swordfish, it tasted more plain but was still fabulous! The chicken pot pie, which my dad said was a little salty but overall pretty good. The crab stuffed haddock, which my sister loved! She chose fries as her side, they were steak fries! My mom got the maple glazed salmon with green beans, and she loved it. I would definitely recommend, and would like to go back again. I forgot to take photos before we started eating, sorry!

The service was great, but unfortunately the food did not meet expectations. Several dishes were overly salty, parts of our meals were cold, and some food was left on the broiler plates. Overall, the preparation felt rushed and careless. We chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday and were hoping for a memorable experience, but it was disappointing. Sadly, this will likely be our last visit.
