Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory of Libertyville, IL

I really love this place for sweet treats. Today on our way to the airport, we decided to stop here to pick up a few of our favorites. The place smelled amazing as always and the service is always friendly. We noticed that the staff member who was assembling marshmallows on a stick was not wearing gloves. She had very long, painted nails and was handling all of the food gloveless. It didn't look sanitary at all. I politely mentioned to the person assisting us that food service gloves should really be used in that situation, touching every marshmallow. He didn't comment. It's just a suggestion, as I mentioned, I really enjoy all of the treats offered here, looking forward to returning soon.

We stopped by here after another store we were trying to find was closed unexpectedly. My younger son and I were very happy we found this spot as it turned out to be a great little store with a ton of options. We ended up getting a variety of items and all of them were delicious. They even have a little ice cream which was nice to see. Street parking can be challenging at times, but take your time and something will open up.

We only bought a bag of taffy apples. They were having a sale. The apples were great and we ended up going back a second time for another purchase. Parking is not great, considering its downtown libertyville, but if you visit one of the nearby restaurants, stop here after for dessert.

So many delicious treats and so many things to choose from. The candy apples are my granddaughters favorite! She visits me from Milwaukee, Wisconsin every weekend and that is the first place she asks me to take her!

This chocolate factory has Carmel apples all year round and the chocolate is home made style. They have all kinds of chocolate covered treats and fudge. Price is a bit on the high side but worth it. They also offered to wrap and put a ribbon on my carmel apples with the color of my choice!
