River Japanese Cuisine - Oakland Gardens

The food was excellent, and the service was impressively quick (though we may have caught them at a less busy lunch hour on the weekend). Parking was relatively easy to find—lucky for us. The music added a great vibe, and the restrooms were clean.

My son and I really enjoyed this restaurant. There is convenient parking in the back, ample sitting arrangements, and the food is good and well priced. They have 50% off specialty rolls, and we were all for that.

The sushi here was really good. Everything tasted fresh and well-made. I tried a few different rolls, and each one had a nice mix of flavors. Definitely become one of my favorite sushi spots. The rolls here are very unique and I love the presentation of them. The staff was friendly and service was quick, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, it’s a great spot to enjoy some tasty sushi!

River Sushi is hands down my all-time favorite place to eat sushi. I was first introduced to it about 15 years ago by a close friend from Hong Kong, and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. The quality has always been consistent, the sushi never disappoints, and it’s one of those places I keep coming back to no matter how many new spots open up. It’s not just a meal for me it’s a tradition. And the desserts? Absolutely unreal. Their green tea ice cream, red bean ice cream, and fried Oreos are genuinely to die for and the perfect way to end a meal. If you’re looking for a sushi spot with staying power, quality, and a bit of personal nostalgia baked into every visit, this place will always be at the top of my list.

Been ordering here for the last 4 years. Today was a first. I ordered 30$ worth of food and put my work address which is literally NEXT door to my home address. (In NYC some businesses share addresses with residential buildings next door) I sat here and watched the camera the whole time. Saw no one. Driver never got out the car since he couldn’t reach me by phone. I never saw anyone come to the door. I finally called after too much time passed only to be told the driver had to too many jobs to come back THEN the driver gets on the phone and tells me that the drivers WENT HOME FOR THE DAY. Which one is it? So my question is….what did they do with the food that was already prepared for me? Give it to another customer? 🤔 Disgusting!!!
