Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

1st time at this awesome location! Plenty of parking and they have outside tables. This location is small but mighty. Lots and staff and plenty of flavors. Yay we were so excited and pleased to be greeted with smiles. My kids were super excited that they had so many of the new flavors. The staff encouraged them to do half/half so they could try two flavors. What a pleasure this visit was. We definitely found our new location. Highly recommend and if you’re going for the free ice today, please don’t forget to tip😊

Rita's frozen custard doesn't really need a review, especially if you're from Connecticut. But if you haven't tried frozen custard before, listen up. Imagine ice cream that doesn't melt quickly and stays rich. Now imagine making a small mountain of this goodness on top of a cone and imagine your face digging into this like a ravenous Yeti. That's exactly what you'll experience at Rita's. The swirl or twist (I can never remember which one it is on the menu) is a perfect combination of vanilla and chocolate custard. They also have ices, but I can't bring myself to try anything other than the swirl or twist. Trust me, it's worth it.

Frozen custard is way better than Dairy queen icecream. You'll see when you get it.

I always go to this Rita’s, love it. I don’t know who was working tonight but there was two little blonde girls that were gossiping right before we walked in. The second we opened the door they gave us the nastiest look, so rude the whole interaction till we left they were so judgmental. Coming from a foh manager they definitely need to be humbled.

Horrible horrible customer service. I understand they are teenagers but manners are universal especially in the service industry. I went in last night to get a pint (since they don’t do quarts) of the custard twist and was told I had to get it from the already premade freezer. I had asked if they could give me a fresh pint (since there was no one else waiting in line) and was told ‘no the custard has to sit for a while before it’s served’ I’m sorry what?? Is that something that is disclosed to the customer when they get a cone? then on top of it all they just sat back down on their phones and pretended to be off the clock. My special needs child wanted the custard so I just dealt with their BS.
