Refined Roots

After the great experience we had at Urban Grounds, my husband and I were excited to try the sister location, Refined Roots, for dinner. However, our experience was less than ideal. To start, the interior design is excellent - soft leather seating in the dining room, warm lighting, large windows at the front, and a mix of brown wood, black metal, and green accents throughout the space. After being seated quickly, we spent some time looking over the food and beverage menus. My husband ordered a seasonal mocktail, which was lovely. I was torn between a glass of Clean Slate Riesling and a mocktail. Since there was an extensive wine menu, I asked our waitress for information on the notes/flavor profile of the riesling ("Is it citrus-forward? What information could you give me?"). Our wait st

My significant other and I visited Refined Roots in Tarpon Springs for lunch, and unfortunately, we left unimpressed. I ordered the “Bird on Fire” chicken sandwich, which was a major letdown. The Sriracha aioli was so faint I forgot it was supposed to be a spicy sandwich. The chicken itself was over-fried to the point of being mostly breading, with barely any actual chicken meat. Also I asked for no onions on my sandwich, but it arrived with onions anyway. The waitress was kind enough to take it back, but the kitchen only removed the onions, leaving the lingering onion taste on the lettuce and tomato without replacing them. Locally owned restaurant with a great bar and handcrafted cocktails. The menu has lots of healthy food choices, this atmosphere has nice seating options to choose from. We loved it

Very nice dinner. We walked in for an early dinner and seated quickly. Cute place with great food. The chicken wings for appetizer, tiramisu for dessert, and grilled cheese with tomato soup as an entree were all excellent. However, the tiramisu was very small for the price, $10 for a tiny piece. Strange, since the portions of all the other dishes we had were commensurate of the price. The salmon entree was good but overcooked and lacked seasoning. The mocktails were great. Overall, we’re excited to return to try other dishes. Great quality ingredients and creative menu without pretension or being too weird to taste good. Service was also nice. Would recommend to a friend.

A very pleasant and unique place to have a bite in downtown Tarpon Springs. We had a bowl and lettuce wraps and both were fresh & delicious. Friendly service and comfortable atmosphere.
