Reed's Dairy Boise

My wife and I come to Reed’s Dairy often. They have amazing ice cream at a reasonable. My favorite is the mint chocolate chip and/or cookies and cream in a waffle cone. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is a very inviting family friendly environment. The seating outdoors makes for a perfect evening.

If you run the numbers on the highest-rated ice cream stores across the U.S., Reeds is ranked a staggering 12th! Theoretically, it should be life changing! But we've discovered that locals in Boise tend to overrate all of their eateries. And Reeds is no exception. Despite an average customer rating of 4.76 on all platforms, the ice cream isn't nearly as good as its competition on that list (for instance, Ehlers in Louisville some 1,900 miles away will simply blow your mind). Now don't get me wrong. The flavors are clever, the taste is delicious, and the butter pecan and maple are both very good. And I greatly respect a creamery that's bold enough to make the nearly-impossible-to-find licorice ice cream! But the product just doesn't strike you as a top 15 ice cream spot. I do love the chee

I've loved Reed's Dairy since I was a little girl in Idaho Falls where the family founded it. I was THRILLED when I saw they opened an ice cream store in Boise and even more thrilled to see 2 stores now! I took "my" grandkids to your new store and 3 kids LOVED your Mudpie!! We love you! And we love your ice cream!!!

Finally found an ice cream store that serves pralines and cream and they said the always have it. There is another set of places that only have it every once in a while which I will not give out there name. The place is so very clean and well organized which is a big plus.

The black tie cheesecake is soooo good! I also got the huckleberry. I’m obsessed with these flavors!! The best part is that the ice cream doesn’t taste overly sweet. You can tell how fresh it is! Will be coming back next time I’m in Idaho
