Red Dog Bar & Bistro

I highly recommend you give this place a visit! I went here with a party of 8 on a Sunday for brunch. There wasn't an available table for 8, but at our request, the moved 2 chairs to a table 6 and it was all good. We were seated quickly. Inside was very clean and looks a lot like a typical sports bar. Plenty of TVs and lots of beer and cocktails to choose from. The service was fantastic! We were greated quickly and the server was very friendly. Our orders were taken promptly and they checked back with us often to make sure drinks were refilled. The food was very good. Pictures with this post show the Western Omelet, Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuit, Fried Green Tomato BLT and Shrimp and Crab Avocado. One of our group was celebrating a birthday and they brought out a free dessert.

We are in town for a family event in this beautiful little town. This place was highly recommended, so our expectations were high. Wow, we were not disappointed. The staff was amazing! Had Pacifico beer on draft that was awesome, reminds us of our trips to mexico and where we live in San Antonio, Texas. Even though we are from Virginia, and were desperately missing the East coast and the familiar feel of the landscape, was like a breath of fresh air. We LOVED this place and the food was amazing! Had the wedge salad and lemon pepper wings, husband had the wild boar smasher burger, i had a few bites, WAS fabulous! All of it. The bartender waited on us and she gave us amazing service!! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Red Dog. We were invited there for lunch by a friend, so we weren't sure exactly what to expect. The atmosphere was lively and fun. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. We tried three different burgers, and all of them were great. I think the Barn Burger may have been our favorite because it had the perfect spice. We will most certainly come back again.

I got the truffle burger and it was meh at best. I did not detect one single note of truffle and I have had them in Vegas and Houston so I know what it should taste like. Everything we got was so so and we did not feel comfortable here. There were some very snotty patrons who truly had nothing to feel superior about. All in all, I would not recommend.

After walking out of nearby Black Jacks when we had entered and sat down after being told to get a table. Then in walked a party of five and got served before us (not a reservation place) We waited and still nothing so we left. So! We walked right down the road to Red Dog and were courteously seated immediately. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. We ordered the schnitzel and a salad which were wonderful, as were the mocktails! Loved the atmosphere inside, there's also a bar and a beautiful seating area outside. We will be back!
