Buffalo Tavern

Secluded B&B outside of West Jefferson. Beautiful and peaceful property with the sound of running water from a nearby stream. Lovely large trees and many birds. Nestled in a beautiful hollow surrounded be mountains. 150 year old structure is very warm and cozy with comfortable furnishings. We will be back. Can't wait for breakfast!

Our camping trip was cut short by drenching rain. I found this place, and it was perfect. It had the coziest bedroom I've ever had at a B&B. There were lots of interesting books in the parlor. The nearby downtown area offered an attractive main street. Breakfast was amazing. The owners were a delight. The surrounding mountains made for a great stay. We'd go back.

I have stayed at many places in my time,but this was my favorite.Steve and Susan are the best it was like being with family,all the other guest getting up in the morning talking.I personally got up in the early morning around 7:AM and had coffee on the balcony and the breakfast was always great Steve is an awesome chef.The banana foster french toast is a must to try,one guest said she could eat it everyday and I agree.If your looking to get away and it feel like home and not a commercial hotel experience the Buffalo Tavern is definitely the place to go.I plan on going back and maybe we might just meet one these days. This place was lovely! Paps was very friendly and helped us get settled even though we missed our check-in time. The room felt luxurious in an antique way, and the food was amazing! We also loved our conversation with the other couples at breakfast. The recommendation book in the room was very enjoyable and had all of Paps’ nearby recommendations (which turned out to be great)! Due to the age of the house and furniture, sounds travel far, making it a bit less private. We still enjoyed our visit very much, and hope to return!

What a great getaway location. Beautiful and peaceful property with very gracious innkeepers. I highly recommend it. You will love the breakfast!!
