Radio Island Public Beach Access

This is a lovely beach access. There is a parking lot. A bathroom is accessible from the parking lot. There is a boardwalk that leads to the beach front. At the beginning of the boardwalk are a number of trash cans. The boardwalk is a couple hundred yards. It is level and wide enough for a wheelchair or stroller. This beach is off of the bulkhead channel that feeds into onslow bay. This means there is very little water movement depending on watercraft and weather. This would be a great place for young children to play in water. We also saw a number of people fishing from the shore.

Love this little beach. It does get crowded and DON'T PARK ON THE SIDE ROAD. We saw cars getting towed on a Saturday. We got there on a Saturday at 830a and there was some spaces. Then on a Tues we got there at 11a and lots of spots but we left at 2 and lot was full.

Nice small family beach. There's a wood board walk to walk to the beach area. The trails are kept clean and the bathrooms are also. There's a nice area to wash off after a day in the sand. The parking lot is nice but fairly small. Expect to park down the road side on holidays.

Free parking but there’s limited parking definitely carpool and plan to get there early so you can find parking. Remember to pick up your trash.

Such a beautiful place. Not over crowded. Peaceful & beautiful views.
