Do not drive through Tar Heel without supporting this wonderful local business! The Owners are very welcoming and kind. The way we were treated was absolutely amazing. The food came fast and was very tasty. Their Aqua de Jamaica is amazing, too. They have some seating opportunities as well as a restroom. Next time we will drive to Myrtle Beach, we will definitely stop here again!

Rachelitas is a treasure! The food was amazing! The service was friendly and helpful and patient as my family of five decided and changed minds. We changed our minds because everything sounds amazing! My husband settled on the torta de cubana, my 9 year old daughter got two chicken street tacos and devoured them, my 12 year old son got the most delicious looking hot dog ( he's sort of a picky eater) and cleared his plate, my mom got the asada street tacos and flan and raved about them and I got the asada burrito. The rates were reasonable as well. There are two large pick nick tables for seating options outside, there is no indoor seating. We met a friendly stray cat while we waited for our order. Overall I highly recommend!

We were driving home from our annual friend group camping trip at Carolina Beach State Park. It was lunch time and I googled lunch near me, not actually sure where I was. We happened to be near Tar Heel NC. We almost missed the place as the signage was not right out on the street. I’m glad we didn’t miss it as it was amazing food. The flavor was just spot on perfect. My wife and I split plate, carne torta and pollo tacos. The green sauce was fantastic. If we ever find ourselves near this little town again we’ll eat here. This is one of those little places people brag about.

Delicious authentic Mexican food! I've tried countless Mexican restaurants along the East Coast, from Florida to New York. I don't normally write reviews, but the excellent customer service makes it worthwhile. It's small but clean, and unquestionably one of the best! Dishes offer good value for money, and they do their very best to accommodate you. The "asada torta" was big and tasty. I was not disappointed, and I’ll definitely come back when I revisit North Carolina. 👍

Best steak tacos I've ever had in life. They were heavenly and profound. Get them with grilled onions though!
