Public Beach Access 37

It was chilly when we arrived at this beach access point. We had been informed that we could spot dolphins from this location. Fortunately, we were in for a treat and managed to see them during low tide, swimming close to the shore. Unlike other parts of the coastline, there were an abundance of shells here.

If you go to Edisto be mindful that it’s not much to do there. It’s expensive and they charge you more if you use your credit/debit card. Golf cart rentals are about $600 for the week, so we brought ours thinking we could ride to the beach accesses. Nope we got a $50 ticket. You can ride your own golf cart around you just cannot park it because they will not give you a permit unless you lived here 6 months or more. To me the best part of our trip was going to Botany, Bay and Edisto State Park. You do also see a lot of dolphins and deers they are everywhere.

Nice place to go. Very often you can see the Dolphins fishing with the whole pod. Towards low tide is the best time that I have seen them. And also that is a good time to find title pools for kids to play in and shells to find. But the best shells would probably be at the State Park. Beautiful sunsets in this general area. Plenty of access to parking. Even extra parking across the street. It is all free parking. Parking at night is prohibited. Except across the street. Take your chairs and umbrellas or canopies it is all welcomed. And please take your trash with you. Kayaking paddle boards you see a little of everything out here it's a nice Harbor area some people would say Bay....

This beach access has a neat trail to the water. The sunset view is breathtaking!! Highly recommend. Great area to see dolphins as well.

A lovely hidden gem! You want the beach? You got it! No commercialism. Just water,sand, moss covered trees and an old army station. It is an island,so you'll take a bridge to get on it. It's a town, but just one monopolizeing corporate hotel offering room rentals. You can camp too by the way. Food Lion is the only grocery store and your admission to the state beach also covers the detached museum. So what are you waiting for??? Go to Edisto!!!
