McConkey's Jungle Shack

McConkey’s Jungle Shack was a great stop on Edisto! We ordered the fish & chips and onion rings, and everything was delicious. The onion rings were especially good — light, crispy batter without being too thick. The fish was perfectly cooked and the house-made chips hit the spot. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the fun island atmosphere. Service was very attentive. Definitely worth a visit!

Food was very good. Everything was clean and very casual. No need to dress up however you do want to arrive for 6 PM to be able to get a table. All seating is outdoors so plan accordingly for the weather. Some areas have a screened in porch like setting and another area is not screened in typical American casual fare. Plenty of parking.

Seated with no wait, service was attentive and fios was excellent. We spent $61 (including tip) for shrimp and chips and fish and chips plus two ice teas.

For the area this seems like some good eats. The price vs portion was pretty solid. The wings were actually pretty good. The atmosphere is along the lines of, if an eclectic sea side shanty was crossed with an ice cream stand.
