Portugalo BBQ

I was in the mood for some Portuguese food and saw this place and decided to give it a .There wasn’t a dish I had that I would say was great or even good the clams sauce was extremely salty, just simply horrible empanadas overcooked so bad they were almost hollow. I had the seafood paella and I have to tell you that was the worst paella I’ve ever had. The meal we had was a simple meal, simply prepared and all they had to do was seasoned it make it flavorful and that didn’t happen so pretty much I gave them $100 for no reason cause overall I have to say that was one of my worst meals, definitely will not go there again.

At this point in time I can only provide feedback on their empanadas. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak empanada. Compared to the hundreds I have consumed across New Jersey, this was @ middle of the road empanada. The casing was much larger than the contents and it was quite greasy. It was ok, didn't have that wow factor. It was freshly made which was fantastic. I will be back again to try their signature BBQ on my next visit with an updated review.

I popped up at this place and its another version of Burnett BBQ, just smaller. Food was excellent , i been twice, so much to try, i recommend going. For good grilled food.

We ordered from here for the first time to try it out. When we received our food it was full of small worms, as anyone would do we called and let them know what was in the food they are serving and nicely just asked for a refund since the food was inedible. They demanded for us to bring the food back simply because they were in disbelief that there was nothing wrong with it and refused a refund for not doing so. We work 20 minutes away we were not going to dig out the worm infested food out of the dumpster and waste our time driving back there. We will never go back, they have poor customer service and clearly don’t handle food properly.

Alex at Portugalo East Hanover, makes us feel like home. He will do anything at his reach to make it a great experience. Food is very good. Definitely recommend the mixed plate (can't remember name) with picanha, chicken skewers, pork, veggies, fries. Oh, and the bread is really good 👍.
