Portales Public Library

We really enjoyed our visit to the library. There are multiple opportunities for kids to do things during the summer. There is a great children’s section. The library has multiple mediums by which people are able to engage contact books. It’s an easy library to get into. It’s easy to get a library card. I’m glad to recommend it. As we have said “check out your local library.“

Went in the little bookstore, got a CD for $1. Books are super cheap!!! I will be back!!!

The librarians act like kids can’t be kids. Of course they’re going to run around. Yes I understand it’s a library and they should understand kids are not robots. The bigger librarian kept coming over to hush us. THEY ARE KIDS WHAT DO YOU EXPECT!?!? We will not be returning when they act like that. Clovis library is understanding, nice, and they have a clean facility. We DO NOT recommend this library.

First time trying this library with my toddler, & I can definitely say we won’t be going back. I personally prefer the Clovis library even if it’s a farther drive. The staff was rude in every way hushing our kids & giving us stares. No one noticed but them. I understand your worried about something that happened in the back (cops & fighter fighters were there). They are kids and we were leaving just filling out paper work for a card. When we first got their is was a good start but they had a movie playing and they seem to micromanage little kids. Personally not my type of care ship or as a parent I wouldn’t want my child around this type of environment. It’s nice and clean though, they have a big kids area even though kids can’t be kids in it.
