El Rancho Restaurant

I love this place but they’re not very consistent. I have had amazing meals but the last two times have been a miss. Gave us enchiladas that felt like they just assembled it but didn’t heat it up. The beans and rice is always great here. Like I said it’s a great spot maybe for dining in, you get better experience than take out.

Excellent food and service. Main dishes came out in only a few minutes. Super hot, fresh and delicious. Sopapillias were absolutely awesome as well. We cleaned our plates and had a wonderful time. We will be back.

Not very impressed by the meal, the service, or the price. I assumed that being so close to Mexico that the food would be decent, but not the case. We waited way too long for the meal to be served and then when some of it arrived, the other meals took another 10 minutes. It was problematic as we took individuals as part of a work dinner. Half of us sat there watching our meal get cold while the others sat and waited. The server acted like this was no big deal and on top of that did not apologize or keep our drinks filled. We left quite dissatisfied and disappointed. Our guests, unfortunately were frustrated. We won’t be back. What a train wreck.

The food was really great and portion sizes were generous! Joaquin was our server, and he was very kind and excited when he came to take our orders. He was very welcoming and we had a great time visiting from out of town! Highly recommend a visit if you are passing through Portales!

Enchiladas were bland only thing that actually gave it flavor was the peppers. The nachos were decent the fajita meat was stringy not much flavor. Sopas were big and fluffy can’t go wrong with those. Service was superb.
