Portage Brewing Company

One of our favorite out of town breweries. Great selection of beers, I opted for the Salted Lime and hubby had an IPA. Owners were super friendly and it just had an overall great vibe, which some breweries do not. Easy walk from Chase on the Lake. We plan on returning in the fall.

picture this: you wrap up a hike (maybe it’s -3 out or maybe it’s peak leaves) and you want a cold beverage. Portage Brewing is your place. They offer world class beers (particularly the stouts, in my opinion) and have a spectacular environment. Portage handedly joins some twin cities main stays among my favorite breweries in the state.

This place is really a cool brewery. They have a great big deck/patio area to sit outside, but the inside is stylish with lots of natural light too. I had a vanilla porter here a couple summers ago that I still think about to this day because it was one of the best beers I’ve ever had!

Super cute Brewery that smelled AMAZING, if you're into the whole brewing process... oaty and malty and all.... yes. And the building is a deep dark blue barn shaped thing that looks super cool from the out and nice and rustic in. Even has a canoe hanging in the taproom. I only had time to stop for 1, but had the Pine Line IPA and am intrigued enough to want to try a few more of the selections. Hopefully I will be back by to try a couple more. Good job guys.

Sea Salt Lager - I’d give it 10 stars if I could! Atmosphere - love the large deck, the huge windows, and the fact that the location is atop a hill with city views. Staff - another 10 stars! When my drink spilled and I asked for napkins to wipe it up not only did I receive these, but a free 5 oz pour to replace the lost lager. And, as we were leaving two men came in and asked if it was too late for a beer. It was three minutes to close, and the staff happily replied, “yes! It’s not 9 yet!” Really enjoyed our experience and look forward to coming back again! Keep up the good work and positive vibes! Cheers!
