Food and drinks were good. Service was subpar. He had an attitude and didn’t check up on us once the entire hour and a half we were there and the restaurant wasn’t even busy on a Wednesday night. Calamari was incredibly salty but we were so hungry we ate it anyway. Vodka lasagna and linguini with clams and mussels were very good. Star of the meal was the creme brûlée which was great and not too sweet. Would come back for food and drinks but not for the service.
I had a great experience at Polpettina! The pizzas were excellent—crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and full of flavor. I also tried the steak sandwich special, which was a standout. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned, served on fresh bread with just the right balance of toppings. Another highlight is their Wednesday wine promotion—definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a midweek treat. It’s a great way to enjoy quality wine at a very attractive price. Overall, a solid spot with great food, good vibes, and thoughtful specials that keep you coming back.
Came here on a Saturday. It’s a meticulously designed Italian restaurant with charming vintage touches—the rustic bronze tin ceiling tiles, exposed brick walls, and elegant pendant lighting all add to a warm, stylish atmosphere. That said, the food was just average and felt a bit overpriced for what we got (around $100 for one appetizer, one salad, and one pizza). To be fair, we might’ve just ordered the wrong things. We started with the special garlic “not,” a large, knotted bread served golden and blistered, dusted with parmesan and flecks of thyme. It looked impressive, but it was a little too oily for our taste. The farmhouse salad was colorful, with lots of components—chicory greens, pickled red onions, roquefort blue cheese, cucumber, tomato confit—but the flavors didn’t quite come
Tad disappointed in our first visit. Eggplant chips were way too salty and the pizza seemed to lack flavor (which was surprising due to the amount of cheese and pepperoni). It seems they are more known for their thin pizzas so we might need to circle back to try again.
We spent the night in Tuckahoe coming from out of town. Ordered take out from Polpettina, three pizzas, sides, dessert. Everything was excellently made and the black truffle pizza in particular was stunning. My brother has lived in Northern Italy for over ten years and the pizza here is right up there with my favorite spots in Italy. Probably the best experience though was the staff - so friendly and helpful. You guys made my day 🙂
