Pollo Tropiko

After a long days work in our own food truck, my wife and I were so happy to see that Pollo Tropiko was open on a Monday. The owners Ed and Jazelle are absolutely awesome. Very welcoming, easy to talk to and sincerely happy to be a part of the SML community. We had the chicken Fresh Bowl and the Birria sandwich. Both were delicious and full of flavor. The presentation was appealing, portion size great, even for a big guy like myself. Also tried their new desserts and refreshers. Everything was amazing. All this for a very a reasonable price. We look forward to trying more of the menu!!!

5 stars – 10/10 Must-Try at Smith Mountain Lake! Ordered the bureau burrito and it was stellar, juicy, and packed with flavor. The complimentary white bean soup was to die for—creamy and perfectly seasoned. The salsa was stellar with the ideal kick. What stood out most: the wife and husband owners are so nice and welcoming—you instantly feel like family. Pollo Tropiko is a true gem. Can’t wait to return! 🌟

The food was awesome. I got the El carbon tacos and my mom got the cheese steak tacos. Both were really good. The atmosphere is nice, simple, and refreshing. The service was fast and pleasant. I would come here again. Prices are definitely worth the food.

The birria sandwich was amazing, would 100% get it again 5/5, the ramen was not my favorite, I actually found it a bit flavorless and was sad about it but the sandwich made up for it! Service was also amazing.

Food was very fresh and flavorful, the chicken wings were very tender. I ordered the tacos al carbon, and my sister tried the tacos de birria and are definitely the best tasting around. They also have fresh Mexican aguas frescas, the Jamaica is a must try! Will be back
