Pizzana

Pizzana could be very good, but sadly it is not. From the service to the food you will find yourself wanting. First, the service we had was terrible. We came in and there was only 1 other customer there and they were at the counter. It took the only staff member we saw to notice us waiting and seat us, again there was no one in any of the seats at all. She gave us menus and went on her way, on her phone. She came back for a drink order and we actually had to remind her to get it, by then we had already ordered. The food took a long time to come out and when it did it was cold. All of it was cold. I had pasta and my husband had pizza, that was cold. We had also ordered bread, for a fee, and had to remind the server to get it. Our food was already there. She does like her phone. My pasta

I absolutely love Pizzana, and today I visited a location I hadn’t been to before, the Marina del Rey one and it was incredible. As always, the service was amazing. I also love that they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes the experience even better depending on your vibe. Our waiter, Chase, was fantastic. Very helpful, super attentive, and checked on us often. He also gave us great food recommendations. And Mariana (yes, she had my name!), the manager, came to greet us and was extremely welcoming, such a nice touch! My favorite dish today was definitely the Cacio e Pepperoni pizza! SO good! I love Pizzana. I’ve been there just a few times, but I often order it to eat at home and I’m never disappointed. My only note is that they don’t offer truffles. A Cacio e Pepe pizza with added truffles would be a dream.

DO NOT COME WITHOUT A RESERVATION. We decided to try this on a random night and it didnt look busy at all. Several open tables inside and outside. We checked in and were told to wait a couple min as they get a table ready. A dofferent host came up and asked for our reservation which we didn't have... she then told us the wait is 1.5hrs. Despite the several open tables... We ended up ordering take out. It took forever. Almost an hour to be exact. We saw 20+ people come and go with takeout orders. If you dont order through their app, good luck waiting. The food itself was good. Ingredients were fresh but way overpriced. 3 pizzas and 1 pasta for $115 seems steep. We ordered takeout from Pizzana in Marina del Rey last night, and this review is strictly for the takeout experience. We've dined at the Brentwood location many times and have always loved it, but I was a little skeptical about ordering expensive pizza to-go, worried it might not travel well. Thankfully, Pizzana delivered. Pickup was smooth -- I arrived about five minutes before the scheduled time, and I appreciated that the food wasn't ready too early and just sitting around. Everything was hot and fresh when I got it. Although we did not dine in today, they need to do something about the ambience of this restaurant because it feels like an office building and it's not really appealing.
