Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar

This place is one of my favorites to visit when we come down to LA from OREGON! This last trip was by far one of the best! They now offer sandwiches and it was so tasty. My wife ended up stealing half of it! The croissants are so fluffy too. The ham and Gruyère is my absolute favorite! Gelato is always on point! And the flavors are so good! The awards are toast to that! Whenever I have friends visit LA I always tell them to try this place!

Capri Gelato and Coffee Bar is one of those rare places that gets everything right. The moment you walk in it feels relaxed friendly and genuinely welcoming. There is a great energy in the space and it immediately sets the tone for a good experience. The gelato is next level. Smooth flavorful and clearly made with top tier ingredients. You can tell it is crafted with real skill and care not rushed or mass produced. I also ordered a coffee and it was excellent. Rich well balanced and made exactly how a good espresso drink should be. What makes this place even more special is knowing it is owned by a husband and wife who are truly passionate about what they do. Honestly, love this little gelato shop. Bacio di Latte is still my favorite, but I would say that Capri is a close second. They also serve drinks and bakery items as well. It’s located on busy Lincoln Boulevard near the MDR and Culver West border. They have a small parking lot in back, but I was able to find a street spot for free right out front. The lady behind the counter was extremely polite and had one of the nicest smiles that I’ve seen in a long time. It’s quite small on the inside, they only have a few tables to eat in, but most people choose to order to go, which is what we decided to do. They have a lot of great flavor options and they rotate seasonally and weekly. For my first visit, it took some time to decide what I wanted to order because there were a lot of great options. I

Gelato and coffee shop. It was hard to tell if the shop was open when I entered from the back alley. I had 70% chocolate and raspberry gelato. The coffee was pour-over Ethiopian, but the staff didn't know how to make it properly, so it was bitter and not to my liking.

Since season 2 of White Lotus I've had this deep sadness about missing Italy a place I used to frequent. After living in the desert for the past couple of months, we've been far away from good ice cream et al. And Gelato wasn't even a consideration! Discovering this place today met both my craving for something sweet and warm memories I needed of Italy. The staff was incredibly kind. They answered all of my questions, managed my probably overwhelming or annoying joy (LOL), they were patient with my son and patient with our dog. They have a flavor, that has apparently won an award, and Im not the lease bit surprised because it is DIVINE!!!
