Pho & Banh Mi Saigonese

It’s been years since I’ve had Pho as good as I did today here. The pho was so flavorful, the ingredients tasted so fresh, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. And of course the meat was delicious. I got the P2 and my boyfriend got the P4. But the best part was probably the beef wrapped in grape leaves (the dipping sauce was so good I drank it when the beef was gone). Also we had the Thai tea and it wasn’t too sweet, which is hard to say for most Thai teas. Can’t recommend it enough.

I chose at random this restaurant to order Pho and Banh Mi via Uber Eats. I live in Houston where there is a lot of Vietnamese food but I was very surprised that the food here is very delicious. Especially, they pack very nicely and cleanly when I buy To Go, I can say it is nicer than in Houston. When I came back, I bought 4 Combo sandwiches to bring on the plane. I didn't expect them to prepare so carefully that the next day they were still intact, so delicious! So delicious that now I still crave to eat more.

My first visit to Pho and Banh Mi Saigonese will be my last. I was deeply disappointed with the food quality and service. My guest and I ordered broken rice, grilled beef as an appetizer, spicy noodle soup, and Banh Xeo—none of these dishes were palatable. The Banh Xeo had an off flavor and was made with chicken instead of the traditional pork. The shrimp was rubbery. The grilled beef was extremely dry from overcooking, and the meat was so lean it had no flavor. It was heavily saturated with sugar and salt just to make it edible. Despite the menu description, there was no detectable lemongrass flavor whatsoever. The spicy beef noodle soup was far from authentic. Pho & Banh Mi Saigonese is located in convenient location - a lot of parking spots (not free). Huge dining room with many wooden tables-seats, nice, clean, peaceful atmosphere and decorating nicely. As for service, they are OK. Anyway this restaurant the highlight is food, especially I really their grilled meat dish (pork, chicken, beef), they cook them very well. They also have variety and many selections - Pho Noodle, rice/vermicelli bowl and Vietnamese sandwich/bun. I tried all of them, they were delish and the price is very reasonable.

I was looking for a good spot to eat pho in Maryland and came across Pho & Banh Mi Saigonese. I have to say, I’m very picky when it comes to pho, so I was hesitant at first—but I’m glad I gave this place a try! The pho here is top-notch, with a broth that’s simmered for 24 hours, giving it a deep, rich flavor that really stands out. The banh mi was also excellent, made with freshly baked bread that they bake every few hours to keep it crisp and light. You can really taste the difference! The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and has a nice atmosphere, making it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a meal.
