An East Coast transplant on the hunt for a good cheesesteak. This was decent. But I've had better. The portion size was generous, with a good balance of meat, veg and bread. The roll was as it should be... able to hold everything, including the juices, all the way to the end. Even held up for my leftovers next day. Heavier on the cheese (couldn't even tell there was cheese on it) and lighter on the salt (very salty) and we might have a contender.
What a fantastic find! First, I love supporting local independent places so I am thrilled we found Philly Bilmos. With my hometown being New Jersey and knowing the owner is also from Jersey, I’m thrilled to have a cheesesteak and hoagie shop in Vancouver who knows what the real sandwiches are supposed to be and makes them even better. I went for the cheesesteak and let me tell you, the bread is fresh and soft, perfect! The steak was diced up just right with the cheese melted into it, the peppers (banana and cherry peppers) made the sandwich delicious! The meat must be good quality as well because the sandwich was not dripping in grease and it tasted very good also. And then there are the homemade cannolis, reminiscent of Italian bakeries in South Philly! Wow, just wow…so yummy! Since they
A Fantastic sandwich! Well worth the drive. Eat in or take out. The 8" is a meal within itself. Friendly & helpful staff. This should become a regular option.
Excellent cheese steak. I should have gone with my first instinct and gotten -JUST- a loaded with onions, peppers, and mushrooms, but I went with a loaded Bilmo that adds in lettuce and tomato as well because I am a fan of at least trying anything that a place puts their name on. Usually I know better than to get tomatoes on a hot sandwich since tomatoes like to drip a lot. Sandwich was messy but GOOD! The bread they use is SUPER good. Soft on the inside and a nice crispy crust. The steak they use is delicious. I will definitely be back soon and make sure to skip the lettuce and tomato from now on. Service was very friendly. The person taking orders when I was in had a nice hearty greeting for everyone and while eating in I noticed he was very well versed in the menu and happy to answer
Best philly i ever had in my life blew my mind, i went two days in a row the second time the grill cooked all my cheese out. Without hesitation they kindly remade not just mine but my friends and boy it did not disappointed they did it without question without extra charges and were so kind and nice let us keep even the first two sandwiches!! I couldn’t believe how wonderful both the cook and hotty red headed server were. 100 out of 5 stars. Ill be super fat in no time #phillyaddict
