Food was good, but the pancakes had a weird flavor like old oil was used to fry them up, and the gravy seemed to be processed. Was ok for the price.

My brother and I wanted to meet somewhere between Ft Wayne and Indy, to celebrate a birthday. As I filtered "breakfast 4.5+ stars" around the Gas City area, I got quite a few hits, but there was soomthin' about Phil & Cheryl's that caught my attention. Namely, it was all the reviews that mentioned the friendly atmosphere and good food at a reasonable price. We were looking for an unassuming mom & pop diner where we could have a relaxed conversation and enjoy breakfast together. We soon found out that this is definitely a favorite amongst the locals, and in conversing with our waitress, she has been serving here for 40 years and knows everyone by name. Food wasn't bad. Eggs were uncooked so I didn't eat them but the rest wasnt bad. Probably won't care to go again.
