Peacock House Bed & Breakfast

If you're looking for a relaxed and charming place to stay while exploring Down East Maine and nearby Campobello Island in New Brunswick, look no further than Peacock House B&B in Lubec. My husband and I spent two nights here and loved every minute of our experience. Our first floor suite was comfortable and well appointed, with lovely garden views, and the public rooms were all inviting and interesting spaces with well curated CD and book collections, good art on the walls, and even musical instruments to play if you're so inclined. But it's the owners, Jim and Mary Beth, who make this a truly special place. They are such lovely, welcoming hosts, and their breakfasts are absolutely delicious! We enjoyed chatting with them, and learned much about the area from our conversations. They know

Simply delightful. The Inn is clean, bright, and beautifully decorated with antiques of the period. Our lovely Margaret Chase Smith suite was roomy and comfortable with a sitting area. Breakfasts were delicious with treats like home made turkey sausage and local syrup. Our enjoyable hosts had all the inside information from where to get the best pictures of the lighthouses, to picking up the coastal trail, to tips on visiting Campobello, and recommendations for restaurants. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay. Rave reviews from us!!

We booked Peacock House from the lodging list of a local puffin tour. Our stay was an unexpected benefit to the trip. The Peacock House is a thoughtfully and well appointed B&B, with excellent attention to detail. We chose the Margaret Chase Smith Room, which was comfortable and a nice size. The rooms throughout are filled with quality pieces and fixtures. Guests may also enjoy their beautiful patio and outdoor areas. The gracious hosts packed a tasty to-go breakfast the day of our tour and the breakfast served the next day was delicious. We enjoyed the delightful Peacock House and would certainly recommend.

We have stayed at the Peacock House two times in two seasons and can’t wait to go back. The innkeepers, Mary Beth and Jim, husband and wife, are so helpful and personable! The inn is very comfortable, clean with beautiful furnishings and decor. The full, gourmet breakfasts are some of the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend a stay at Peacock House!

We absolutely loved the Peacock House! The room was very clean, adorable decorations and super nice comfortable beds. The breakfast were amazing!! The hosts are so kind, took time to visit with us and always available for questions. We highly recommend the Peacock House and if we are ever in the area, this will be our first choice of places to stay!
