I did a quick search for a bakery and found Papa'a Palaoa's to be just what I needed. I wanted to get a quick gift for my hosts and when I walked in the smell of cinnamon hit hard, it in a good way. I asked the two young people working with dough on the table if they had just made something with cinnamon (cause I wanted to buy whatever it was that smelled so good!). One of them said, "no, it just always smells like that.). 😀 Right away I knew I needed to buy a cinnamon roll, whether it was fresh made or not. I also bought a cinnamon, raisin, walnut loaf. I didn't get to sample the loaf, since I left it with our host, but the cinnamon roll broke da mouth! (As they say here.) 🤙🏼 I don't know about anything else they sell there, but I would wager it's ALL good. So many LAYERS and so much
Stopped at Papa'a Palaoa bakery this morning. Ended up buying a loaf of deli rye bread, mint chocolate chip cookies and a slice of coconut cream pie. All were delicious! Sights and smells inside brought back memories of working in my father's bakery 60 years ago. I'll be back weekly to sample everything!
Huge fan of baked good, not a fan of Papa’s. They don’t post prices, they have a great selection of day olds that are, wait for it…. 5% off! And when you pay $20 for an old cinnamon roll and coffee cake you leave feeling taken advantage of. I’m sure locals get lower prices, but if you’re visiting save your money, hit up the Safeway bakery. Hope that helps the next unsuspecting highly anticipating visitor who does mind overpaying. I respect the hustle, understand the cost of ingredients (wife’s a baker on the mainland), totally get paying the bills and the cost of living, just be upfront on the cost of your goods so folks understand what they’re signing up for. Sure we could refused to pay and leave but the wife way trying to be polite and support you.
Tiny bakery.... Excellent baked goods ! Staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Terrific cinnamon rolls... Maybe the largest ones I've ever seen! Scones both sweet and savory are terrific. Definitely stop here.
Exceptional bakery. We got a pumpkin spice muffin, mint chocolate chip cookies and a whole wheat cranberry walnut bread. All were excellent. You can see them preparing the items to be baked.
