This place is wonderful! I can’t get over the fact that it’s been open since 1985. I lived in the neighborhood in the early ‘90’s when I was in my 20’s, and somehow I totally missed this hidden gem where there is no doubt the locals eat. Upper East side regulars were all around us. Polished looking couples tastefully dressed and exuding understated elegance. The wait staff was outstanding … attentive and affable. The food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. I was sorry we couldn’t stay for dessert! We will definitely be returning to this cozy, atmospheric spot for excellent Italian when we next find ourselves on the UES in Manhattan!

What a special place! Great food, lovely atmosphere, and friendly & attentive staff Beet carpaccio and the best linguini anywhere.

I don’t remember the last time I’ve had such a delicious Italian meal. Braised beef with risotto and ragu pappardelle were unbelievable!!

We waited 1/2 hour to be seated, with a reservation. Once seated, we were never approached to serve water or ask if we wanted a cocktail. 45 minutes in, the waiter hurriedly asked us for our order. We told him we’d like a cocktail and ice water first. Meanwhile , none of the tables that were seated for the 45 minutes we were there had even been served their appetizers. We got up and left. There are too many other restaurants that are run professionally to choose from. Do yourself a favor and pass this place up.
