Paola Free Library

I used to love this place, but unfortunately, recent events have stopped me from wanting to go. Anytime a friend and I visit, it seems she’s accosted for having a disability and causing staff an inconvenience. It’s one thing if it was regular staff, it’s another when it’s a main manager of the library staff purposely using behaviors that target and belittle people. Watching the other staff begin to get uncomfortable is a form of second hand embarrassment too. It’s just a sour taste, because when I go in alone I’m treated nicely and the facilities are nice and clean.

My kid is obsessed with American history and we both loved it! Very high quality program and a nice space. Very thoughtfully done. Will be back for more! This is such a treasure!

A nice clean library with friendly staff. Parking is a little difficult. It's very easy to renew books and they have a generous policy. My kids loving coming here and doing the activities around the library as well. There is a good computer lab for kids. Their selection is limited but good enough for us. You can also do interlibrary loans.

I had no idea that Paola's library was so nice! Today was our first time visiting and I can't wait to take our kids back for some of their family activities. The ladies at the front desk were helpful and high spirited. Signing up for a card was easy and my first 3 printed sheets of paper were free. Our younger children did not want to leave the downstairs kids area. There was so much for them to do. They enjoyed the puzzle table and picking up all the reading buddies (stuffed animals). We can't wait to come back for a second visit. The place is beautiful, inside and out.

A wonderful library! The library consists of two floors, with the lower floor being dedicated to children's books. They have a wide selection of books as well as movies, video games, and audio books. They have weekly events for children, and they have a yearly summer reading program that can't be beat! The staff is always polite and helpful. There is also a study nook on the upper floor, and there are computers for children and adults to use. There is free wifi for all to use! I've been coming here since I was a child and always enjoy visiting the library and it is a wonderful fixture of Paola history!
