Panaderia Ameca Bakery

Pan Dulce! Yes please. Lake Tahoe Ameca Bakery bakes up some darn delicious Mexican pastries. I was in South Lake Tahoe, driving about being a tourist. I spotted the shopfront and its signage while driving down Lake Tahoe Blvd. That word "bakery"caught my sweet tooth's attention and off I go. The bakery is unassuming, and no frills. The gentleman at the counter was a man of few words. Kind and earnest. The various pan dulce sat so pretty within the glass cabinets. But there was no pricing. They had the pan dulce names clearly labeled though. Considering it was early afternoon, some items were scarce. But they still had enough variety to satisfy my sweet tooth. My wife and I were on an early morning walk down Tahoe Boulevard and we both were drawn by the delicious scent of fresh baked bread wafting from Ameca's. We couldn't help but see what delicacies were being made....and we were not disappointed. The treats tasted every bit as good as they smelled. Thank you!!

Heated up for 15 seconds in the microwave w a cup of coffee was heavenly, the best place for Mexican bread in town

This was my first time visiting Ameca Bakery. Firstly, I was so impressed that the owner recognized my voice after speaking to him on the phone. There is an array of delicious traditional baked products that are amazing. The best bread I have had in a long time. Reminded me of my Grandmother’s bread, that took me back to so many good memories. Will definitely be back.

Not many mexican bakeries around, but this one has really good mexican bread. A little pricey, but good. Their bolillo with cream cheese and jalapeño is pretty amazing. My wife and daughter said it was the best they ever tried.
