Palo Duro Trading Post

We visited the Canyon and stopped by the souvenir shop for lunch, and it turned out to be a great decision. The gift shop area was beautifully done, with a wide variety of items to choose from and very reasonable prices. The restaurant itself is simple, but the food is anything but. I had the chicken burger, and it was hands down the best burger I’ve ever had. The chicken was perfectly crispy, the bun was soft, and everything was served hot and fresh. A truly unexpected and delicious experience. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly. One of them even came outside to help us take photos and showed us the best spot. This was truly the kind of USA experience I’ve always loved and appreciated.

Perfect when a fire ban is in effect. Good burgers but the chicken fried steak sandwich was delicious. And a great view with benches outside. A peaceful bird viewing area located behind the building. And all necessities you need for camping as well.

Friendly welcome. Cheeseburgers were delicious. A good old fashioned burger. Fries were crispy. Came back later for a rootbeer float. Also good. The gift shop has a large selection of souvenirs. Fun to look around in. Staff was very nice. I already want another Cheeseburger!

The food here is delicious! Service was wonderful and quick. They have a very great selection in the gift shop compared to the actual state park gift shop near the entrance tbh. They also have this wonderful and active bird blind there, I saw so many new birds for my list 😁 Highly recommend coming here!

The Palo Duro Trading Post is a fantastic little oasis tucked deep inside the canyon—and a must-stop if you’re visiting the park. After a morning of hiking and exploring, we were seriously impressed by the burger, which was genuinely world class. Cooked fresh, perfectly seasoned, and served hot and fast—it hit the spot in the best way possible. They also offer ice cream, snacks, drinks, and other quick bites, which makes this a great place to recharge without leaving the park. Inside, the trading post has a fun mix of souvenirs, gear, and Palo Duro merch. You’ll find T-shirts, mugs, magnets, and even some trail essentials if you forgot something. Prices are a bit on the high side—as expected for a park concession—but the convenience and location make up for it. There are also outdoor tabl
