Outpost Inn Coffee + Wine Bar

We saw a bunch of 5 star reviews for this spot so wanted to try it out. It was closed for a private event the first day we went there and tried another coffee spot that was pretty disappointing. We were able to grab this on our way out of town, and it lived up to its 5 star review. I ordered a delicious latte and my husband ordered a drip coffee - both excellent. Although we ordered ours to go, it was so cute inside we decided to drink most of it in the cozy atmosphere by the fire. This is the type of place I would love to sit and drink a cup of coffee or glass of wine and read a book. It’s super warm and inviting.

A perfect latte and cappuccino in an incredibly cozy atmosphere! My wife and I are visiting Cashiers and Highlands for the week, and we've totally struck out so far with the coffee options. This might not seem like the obvious coffee spot, considering it's a small coffee bar, but I'm happy to say this is the best coffee we've had in the area and exceptionally good by all standards. The barista was very welcoming and kindly obliged our requests for decaf, extra hot lattes. The atmosphere is perfect - we spent a couple of hours reading and journaling by the fire. This will be the only place we get coffee in the area!

My wife and I shared a quick getaway from the kids at the outpost Inn in Highlands,NC. We loved everything about the Inn! The cozy atmosphere was top tier. We were treated so kindly, and truly welcomed by our host, Alex. We stayed warm by a cozy fire outside. The town was beautiful, but the Inn had everything we were looking for and stayed majority of our trip there at the outpost inn. We definitely came at the perfect time! We can’t wait to come back! Room 12 was cozy and quaint with the perfect amount of ambience. The details were well thought out and designed.

Very friendly and helpful staff waited on us. We had regular hot chocolate and peppermint, hot chocolate with orange cranberry muffin and gingerbread bread both amazing.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Highlander mountain house and decided to pop by here before dinner on our first night. Let me just say, I’m not one to take the time out to write a review but this place is so deserved. The sweetest girl Alex was working all weekend (yes we went back and had the most delicious red wine blend every night we were there) and she truly is a gem. Not only did she make us feel so welcome, by the end of the trip this little wine shop became our spot where we were greeted with a hug by her, and had our same cozy little spot to sip good wine and spend time together. I feel warm and fuzzy writing this right now. The aesthetic is so warm and comforting I truly did not want to leave. Please stop in here next time you’re in the highlands!
