Olneyville New York System Restaurant

Wow these are great weiners. Flavor is unique and delicious. I had two all the way with fries and coffee milk. Fries were hot and yummy. Coffee milk is great. My wife decided to try one weiner which is all she usually eats and ordered another. Service was fast and very friendly. Counter service and booths available. Hotdog and weiner fans should definitely have this location on their bucket list.

For readers who don't know about New York System wieners, the five stars I'm giving here is not like the five stars I give world class restaurants. Olneyville New York System is a world unto itself. I lived in Rhode Island years ago, and I was thrilled to enjoy the wonderful seafood available here. But I couldn't leave without tasting at least one Olneyville wiener. New York System wieners can only be found in Rhode Island, and Olneyville is the classic. These beef/pork/veal sausages are served on a steamed bun "all ways", meaning with meat sauce, yellow mustard, chopped onions, and celery salt. This unusual combination of ingredients comes together to make a memorable flavor. The ambiance is exactly what I remembered from 35 years ago -- a long counter, a few formica tables, and a stentor

Since coming to Rhode Island as an international student, i have been craving for some local diner- style American food. A friend brought me here and I really enjoyed it! I got 3 hot wieners with a side of chili cheese fries and of course the coffee milk, because it wouldn’t be RI without coffee milk The workers here are really chill. Everyone at the restaurant seemed to be locals of the area.

I've driven by the spot many times over the last few years, and because of the new culture, I tried my hardest not to go because I didn't want to be a Glizzy monster. But this place has some really good hot dogs. All jokes aside, I had to grab four of them.

This spot definitely makes you feel like you're in NY. Atmosphere, food smells and design authentic NY! The food was good! They are known for their hotdogs and boy did they deliver! My friend snagged a dog and ate it so fast I couldn't snag a pic. My girls both got grilled cheese and said it was great! I got a Cheese steak only complaint was they didn't spread the meat. Otherwise delicious place to stop!
