This location of OK Canaan Taiwanese Gourmet is inside the ***99 Ranch Market food court*** and is one of several locations they have in Flushing. We ordered the Pork Chop Lunchbox and the Spicy Stinky Tofu with Duck Blood. When we arrived, it was around 11 AM, which is their listed opening time, but the chef had not arrived yet. Because of this, things felt a bit unorganized at the beginning. The Pork Chop Lunchbox was quite good and enjoyable overall. The Spicy Stinky Tofu with Duck Blood, however, was a bit underwhelming — not because it wasn’t stinky enough, but because the broth tasted very light, almost like plain water, and lacked the bold flavor that this dish usually has. Overall, the pork chop was the stronger item we tried. The experience felt a bit uneven due to the opening
Had lunch here today and enjoyed the food a lot! We tried the pork bun and the ba wan appetizer… I thought the pork bun was good but did not enjoy the gelatinous texture of the ba wan, my dad however did! I thought the hot and sour soup was really good. I had the eggplant vermicelli dish which was tasty and not too spicy. My dad had the Taiwanese lo mein with chicken which was garlicky and good. Service was great! Would visit again and try more of their dishes.
Authentic Taiwanese food! We got the oyster pancakes and four god soup (literal translation). Meat is off the bone tender, and feels like home food. Will be back for their breakfast menu as it’s only Sat/Sun.
Great food! I ordered the stinky tofu along with a few other traditional Taiwanese dishes, and everything was delicious. Authentic flavors and really well prepared—definitely recommend for anyone craving Taiwanese cuisine!
Went with a friend during lunch time on a weekday. No other customers but couple of delivery orders. Quality of dishes vary, but staff was friendly. Still worth a visit! 🥤🥤Taiwanese drinks in the fridge were great! I highly recommend trying them (especially if u go with Taiwanese, ask them what them are lol) 💜💜Taro cake was my favorite that day. They were fried smashed taro. Kinda moist, and mochi with great flavor. (Deep fried) Sticky tofu was classic. White kimchi was a highlight. Sesame oil kidney was not the style I had in Taiwan, but my friend liked it. Braised pork rice was delicious too, pretty classic, especially with a flavored egg. But pork was in big chunks which was not ideal.. Traditionally we use grounded pork and it should almost melt in mouth. Soft shell crab was also
