OH MAI VIETNAMESE KITCHEN SOUTH STATE

Looked up banh mi spots by us and this joint popped up. We checked out the different sandwiches they offered here. Everything sounded good so my sister and I made our way in for lunch. Parking is kind of a joke here. There are only 3 spots in the back. Since we are from out of state, we didn't know if street parking was allowed but we followed suit with other patrons and found a spot off State. Walking in, the venue is pretty cute. It's bright, florally and pretty. I adore the wall decor, plants and unique tables. Outside looking in, you would have never guessed it would look so nice inside. Normally I love this place. Online menu is out dated on prices. 100% higher than price listed. Asked to be on brief hold and dude never came back. I tried recalling only to get busy signal. $38.00 for 2 brisket pho soups. Total of 8 pieces of 1 inch squares of brisket meat?? I will not be coming back here for pho.

Used to love this place but walked in and saw my favorite sandwich was 15.95 and walked out. I can’t pay $16 for a sandwich. Please bring your prices back to a reasonable price. Makes me sad.

The food was pretty good but nothing really stood out. I’ve heard they are known for their Bahn Mi and I ended up ordering the ‘medium spicy panang curry’ so I may need to go back for a second visit. Just know that the ‘medium spicy’ is like a southeast Asian medium and not a downtown Salt Lake medium. It tasted fine but it was spicier than expected. The other dishes at the table were their chicken curry and five spices chicken. Again, both were good but nothing that really stood out. The food was good enough that I’ll go back and try the Bahn Mi another day.

Ok taste, but they raised their prices exponentially plus the quantity of food has decreased. How am I paying $20 for meatball pho that lasts barely 1 meal? I use to be able to make it last for 2 or 3 meals
