We are looking for a local seafood place and found this one. It felt more like a mom & pop kind of restaurant with regulars who knew the staff pretty well. The place only accepts cash or checks for payment. Not a big deal, the fish market next door has an atm. Their prices aren’t absurd. I chose the seafood platter broiled. It was not tasty. We also had the fried salmon. It was breaded. I liked that it was thinly breaded but still, not very tasty. The pasta salad tasted good. The carrot cake was good. The frosting, too sweet. The staff is friendly and courteous.
This was a fantastic surprise little place we stumbled across. We were on our way home from a family vacation looking for one last taste of fresh seafood when we found this on a Google search. I went for the fish and chips (shown) the Mrs went for the crab cakes and a cup of the clam chowder. The kid a cheese burger.. no sense of adventure 😂. I can tell you I don't know what the types of fish were but every last piece was delicious! The crab cakes were also amazing (she shared with me). Personally I liked them better than the one we tried at a fancy place in Salem! Not saying that the other was bad there was just something special about these ones. The clam chowder has also another home run in both of our books. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a no frills all fl
Decent food for a decent price. Service was quick and friendly. The food was pretty bland and not a lick of seasoning to be found. I had crab cakes, potatoes, fries and seafood salad. The crab cakes did not live up to the staff's description of homemade with king crab in it. I'm still looking for the crab. They tasted frozen. The seafood salad was the best item. It had big chunks of crab and shrimp which was a first for me. There's usually only crab. The potatoes were decent. I almost forgot the Manhattan clam chowder. I had such high hopes, but all the salt and pepper in the restaurant couldn't save it. They have a great concept and lots of folks seem to enjoy the food. Overall, I would pass in the future.
Excellent seafood market. Very helpful, friendly staff. Uncle Dave gave me a good deal on 7 lbs of shrimp. They were awesome. He's not actually my uncle. There are two Dave's there. Apparently he's the uncle. In fact, I've never met him only spoke to him on the phone, he was very friendly. I dealt with the nephew Dave and what I assume is Uncle Dave's wife. As I said everyone was friendly and helpful.
Old-timey fish fry. Seafood was quality and service was prompt and courteous.
