If you’re looking for a low-key but genuinely impressive night out in the East Village, Odo East Village deserves a spot on your list. The food is the real draw. Their fried chicken is the kind you keep reaching for even when you’re full- crispy and well-seasoned. The raw fish was pristinely fresh, the kind that reminds you how much a good izakaya lives or dies by the quality of its sourcing. Every dish felt and tasted well considered. The staff was warm and attentive without hovering. We’ll definitely be back!

High end “Kaiseki Izakaya” (ala carte kaiseki) without the fuss of hour long commitment and price tag. Small, attentive and intimate. Every dish is bite size and sharable if you are willing. I had never had or heard of seaweed soy sauce and tofu sauce, its so good i had to ask for a spoon and the uni got me🤤

Exquisite meal of small beautifully crafted Japanese dishes designed to create a Kaiseki-style experience but customizable. Some unique flavors and sauces. Lovely room with a homey chili vibe and a soothing music soundtrack. Service was very attentive and warm. I would recommend slightly larger portions for the price point, we ended up at almost $250 for 2 people including 1 glass of sake. Pet peeve: Disappointed that the Toast payment device is configured to suggest tip amounts based on the total bill AFTER tax. This has never been the way that tips are calculated. It leaves a bad impression.

Every dish emphasized the ingredient's own flavor perfectly and they seasoned and flavored everything precisely. Beef tongue is really something. Service was also very attentive and caring.
