Ocean Fresh Seafood Market and Dining

A delicious family meal! We enjoyed the scallops, fish and chips, lobster rolls, pan seared snapper, and pasta. The portions were generous, and the ingredients tasted fresh. The service was especially good - welcoming, friendly, helpful in explaining the menu options. Katie was our waitress and paid special attention to our food allergies throughout the meal. We never felt rushed, despite being the last customers. Would definitely go back!

The seafood market restaurant on Route 37 in Toms River has a pleasant atmosphere and seems to have a following—others rave about their fresh catches and friendly staff. The seafood dinners I tried (aside from the crab cakes) were tasty and well prepared. The interior is clean, bright, and comfortable—great place for a casual meal by the water. That said I have to be honest about the service and crab cakes. I stood at the front door for 15 full minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. I finally had to approach a staff member to ask for a table. Then I waited another 10 minutes even though there was clearly an open table right next to me. Excellent seafood and definitely not a tourist trap! The first thing you notice is that this restaurant is clean and bright inside and out. When you walk in, the seafood counter is to your left, and the seating to the right. After taking my seat, I strolled over to the seafood counter to see what looked good. Well, it all did, but the swordfish really caught my eye. The sword wasn't on the menu, but the staff was happy to prepare it for me anyway - the chef recommended blackened, and so it was. Having seen how fresh the fish was with my own eyes, I expected a good meal, but I was really surprised by the gourmet meal our server brought out. I actually read the reviews before going here for fresh takeout for New Years Eve, honestly shocked they were so pleasant. First I called with a question on salmon and the guy that answered was really rude with his reply. Should of went with my instincts then, I drove on my lunch break 20 minutes to get some fresh fish , Yes I know fish markets smell but this was extra, again ignored my instincts. Got shrimp cocktail and two huge pieces of cod for a recipe I wanted to try. My son remarked immediately that the fish smelled off, I cooked it, we both felt sick after trying a small bit, I threw it all away and still smell the fish days later. Never again! Sorry for the bad review but this was awful. We have fishermen in our family, eat raw sushi, eat fish often, this was pretty bad to prompt

Got the 1.5lb Lobsters for Xmas eve. Oh my god they were stunning. The meat was so sweet. The shell was thick. That's a fully matured lobster right there. I will be getting all of my seafood from here for now on. They legit saved Xmas.
