We came here for lunch and then the vibes are very good. Service is super fast and all the food was delicious. We had the two-course restaurant week menu with the chicken satay and the soft shell crab; both are very delicious. What amazed us was the delicious foam short ribs. We even added one bowl of broth because they are so fresh and delicious. Definitely come back. Also the greetings from the manager Williams was very nice. Highly recommend.
We discovered this Thai and Vietnamese gem while searching for lunch spots on our last day in NYC. The location is incredibly convenient to the subway, and the interior is both cozy and welcoming. We ordered the Thai Drunken Noodles, Vietnamese Pork Chop with Rice, and Steamed Dumplings. Every dish arrived quickly and was packed with flavor. A special shoutout to our waitress, Jana, who was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Definitely worth a visit to OBAO!
Fantastic spot. Some of the best Pad See Ew west of the Atlantic Ocean. Service is always friendly and fast, and the lunch special is perfect when you need something quick without sacrificing quality. Great value overall, and dinner is just as reliable. East 53rd Street is a great stretch for restaurants, and OBAO Noodles & BBQ continues to deliver.
The staff was so helpful and sweet! The food was amazing! So much flavor and the portions were perfect! I will definitely be coming back! I got the OBAO bun platter! It all all these proteins and veggies! I was told to wrap everything in the lettuce and it was amazing!
Enjoy coming here once in a while when I want good Thai food. Their main entree are delicious but can’t go wrong with their noodles or rice dishes either. I would say one of my highly rated Thai places in this Midtown East area. Some of the sauces good be a bit thick with soy sauce and heavy but gotta try the dishes at least once and find your favorite! The pork chops are highly recommended by me! They have good weekly lunch specials too. One downside are the tables near the window could get pretty cold (the restaurant didn’t seem to have the best heating system) so make sure you’re bundle up if you visit during the cold days!
