We loved the place! Historic, comfortable, with lots of character. We had the log-cabin portion of the house-- a sitting room with a bathroom and a tiny kitchen (though Sarah, the innkeeper, served us breakfast);' and upstairs, a spacious bedroom with a lovely bathroom of its own. On a beautiful property--great for stars on a clear summer night. Innkeeper Sarah was welcoming and interesting.

We stayed at Oakland Green for only one night, as the other was already booked (October is a very popular season in the area, as the foliage is truly beautiful around that time), but I really wish we'd had a chance to stay longer. Sara, the owner of the B&B, is such a wonderful hostess - she was extremely helpful with the reservation, even emailing me the driving directions, as the GPS tends to get confused in the area. She also gave us some tips for best restaurants in the area, particularly suggesting Market Table Bistro, which is about a 30 min drive from the farm. Boy, am I glad we listened to her advice - the fare at the restaurant is incredible, and all locally sourced and seasonal (try the pork belly lettuce wraps, and the bread pudding, you will not regret it). ||||The farm itself

This was truly one of the best Bed and Breakfasts we have been to. We stayed in the "log cabin suite" which included a 2 level area to ourselves with sitting room, 2 bathrooms, and a huge bedroom. Everything felt as though we had stepped back in time. The rooms were furnished entirely in antiques stemming from the 1700's when the log part of the house was constructed. The grounds are spectacular. There is a pool area where you can look into the fields at the horses while relaxing by the pool. There are incredible areas all over the grounds where all different sorts of flowers, herbs etc. are planted. Truly this is just a spectacular place and the Hostess, Jean Brown just makes it all the more special. ||We woke up to a made to order breakfast every morning that was so yummy we neve

Why would you want to stay in a somewhat small room when you can stay in a cabin for the same price?!?! The authentic 18th century cabin is attached to the main house but there is complete privacy; they two are separated by think stone walls. The furnishings are well done, it feels like country living. The breakfast wasn't "gourmet" although it was some of the best bacon I've ever had...it was good country cooking with sizable portions. The owners are very friendly and attentive but also know when to say "enjoy your stay" and leave you alone. Overall it was a great stay and if I am ever back in that part of VA I'd definitely stay there again.

This was a wonderful place to take some time to relax in an interesting setting. The log cabin is 300 years old, and there are antiques all over the place. There is central heat and air installed, and renovated bathrooms. So you get rustic charm with the amenities of modern life. The farm is very conveniently located only about 15 minutes south of Rt 7, near Purcellville, and yet feels very much like it is in the middle of nowhere. The illusion is so complete that it was rather jarring to so quickly return to the modern world. We went there for my wife's birthday, and for a chance to spend some quiet time together. It was ideal. The breakfast was also great. Bed and breakfasts seem to be of 2 general varieties, the ones run as a business that feel like a specialized hotel, and those where
