Nyame Ye African Caribbean Restaurant

I ordered delivery, and I was impressed with how hot and fresh the omo tuo was, and how large the portion of rice was. The goat meat was tasty, although I would have preferred it be without bone, as I had to use fork and knife, use the container lid as a plate, and fish the goat out to cut the meat off the bone and then put it back into the soup. That wasn't really a problem as many soups serve bone-in meat despite the idea of it being silly in a soup. The problem was the hausa koko. I was given an entire store-bought container of ready made soup. Cold. The portion size was huge, and had I been at home with a method to portion it and heat it, I might have been delighted... except, 1) it's store bought, the restaurant didn't make it. 2) it was cold and I had no way to portion it out

Every single time I’ve either ordered food in person or from Uber Eats from here, I have NOT been disappointed. Best Ghanaian food I’ve had in the DMV so far. The portions are very generous as well, which I appreciate. The owner is so kind and you can tell she’s very passionate about running this restaurant. 10/10!

This establishment is a family affair, and the food has much love, and soul cooked into it. I always enjoy my experience with the owner, his wife, and daughter who are always so kind, and hospitable with everyone. There are always many repeat customers, because the food is fresh, they cook it when you order it, so be patient, and ready to wait a good 30 to 40 mins. I've been eating here for the past six years, and there has only been one time I've not enjoyed a dish (goat pepper soup, smelled very funky, couldn't get passed the smell). Palaver, Jolof, Fried Fish or Chicken, Gizzards, Banku, Fudu, Egusi, Red Red, the list goes on with all my favorites, and I recommend these dishes. Never again. I have given them multiple chances because of Uber Eats and there has been some sort of issue each time. Last time we ordered, we ordered jollof rice for my husband and I ordered banku with Tilapia. My husband was unable eat his jollof. Every time we have ordered waakye, the meat has been missing except the fish. Today, we ordered waakye for my husband and tuo zaafi for me…YALL! When I tell you the soup for the tuo zaafi made no sense…! I thought they accidentally added the wrong soup so I called and the lady had an attitude. On top of that, today too, my husbands waakye came with NO meat! Just fish. Even though when I called, she claimed they gave us other meat. They DID NOT. My husband just confirmed that today’s only came with fish! I’m from Ghana and so I would never speak

This family owned business is very sweet. They will treat/feed you as if you were one of their own. The flavor of the food was 10/10
