North Country Inn

We had stayed here before when it was a motel. It is now a VRBO, even though the website doesn't tell you that. When we arrived at 3:30 pm the door was locked with a note to call Mike. When we did we reached an answering machine. On our second call he answered., gave us a code to the back door and our room. Same code. When we got in the door to our room was wide open. There was not a soul around so out of curiosity I tried the code on the room across the hall and it was the same code. We were there from Sunday until Tuesday. Never saw another soul. No coffee pot in the room, no ice machine anywhere. It was bare bones. The one compliment I can give is the room was clean. Bed was not comfortable and the sheets were like sandpaper.|Did not feel safe there knowing everyone else had o

I've been going to North Country Inn for over 35 years and even though this is not the typical someone sitting at the "front desk" hotel the rooms were very clean as always. Stayed 2 nights before Memorial weekend and enjoy speaking with the two people overseeing the hotel, in fact I had more conversations with them in two nights than I did in the 35 years with the previous owners. They have security cameras and number keyed locks. We were still able to charge the battery on the boat overnight. Love this place! Price was better than previous. I would not go to the other two hotels in town.

Used their online platform to book rooms and they sold them before we got there. No refunds, don't answer phones, said they would "make it right" and have made no effort. DO NOT STAY HERE, and definitively don't book on their online platform. They will steal your money. Scammers! Buyer beware.

We fell into this motel completely by chance. The rooms are extremely clean, it’s a great place to get a good nights sleep and the breakfast was perfect. Great coffee. You fell sort of like part of the family. When we pass through Orr again we will definitely stay again.

NO ROOMS AVAILABLE UPON CHECK-IN WITH RESERVATIONS THAT WERE CONFIRMED 3 TIMES VIA PHONE. We made reservations for 2 rooms for the night of 7/19/24. Before we cancelled our reservation with another hotel for that night that was farther away, I tried calling to verify our reservation & made repeated attempts to contact the office and finally got ahold of a “Mike” who confirmed we had 2 rooms for the night of 7/19/24. We had an 8-hour drive to get to Orr, MN, and wanted to confirm we’d have late check in, so attempted repeatedly to contact them a third time. “Mike” confirmed we had 2 rooms and stated they live on site and are there all the time so no worries about arriving after 7pm, and he made note of our late arrival. ONLY TO ARRIVE AT 7PM ON JULY 19TH to be told THERE WERE NO ROOMS
