I had an amazing experience at Nong Geng Ji! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and full of character. The food was outstanding andbold, authentic Hunan flavors that were beautifully balanced and deeply satisfying. Every dish we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and showcased real culinary skill. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel truly welcomed throughout our meal. Whether you’re a fan of spicy food or just love bold, rich Chinese cuisine, this place is a must-try. I’ll absolutely be coming back! Highly recommend 💯
Nong Geng Ji was founded in 2017 in Shenzhen, China. With ingredients and skills of local Hunan Cuisine, they expanded into a global chain specializing in Hunan Cuisine. While the restaurant is small, the fast pace and delicious food makes the wait worth it. The menu is displayed on an iPad, with each dish separated in easy identifiable sections. While most of the dishes are spicy, the staff can help adjust the spice level to your/your table's preference. Their Braised Pork with Preserved Mustard Greens was tender, juicy, and delicious. Despite the large pork slices, I am glad it melted easy and didn't get stuck in-between my teeth. I do wish the portion was a bit larger. Honestly, that is the only downside as many of their dishes are smaller than you would expect. The services is nice.
Great authentic SPICY Chinese food. No wonder they’re opening up all across the globe. The atmosphere really transport you to another world as well. Very attentive service. Would recommend!
Overall, the food tastes pretty good. I have been there twice and tried all of their signature dishes. The stir fried pork with chili peppers recreates about 80% of the authentic local flavor of this cuisine and is appetizing. The marbled beef was also tasty. However, I dont eat celery, so they replaced all the vegetables with small chili peppers. Without any vegetables to balance it out, the dish felt a bit too oily. The other dishes did not leave a particularly strong impression. I personally really like cured pork. The garlic shoots were very fragrant, but unfortunately the cured pork they use is of average quality and noticeably sweet, which is quite different from the traditional local style. But overall, the restaurant is still worth trying
The spicy chicken is good, crunchy, and really hits the spot during these cold times.. be prepared for the amount of red peppers though. But it was excellent and would recommend. Restaurant itself looked fairly new and the staff were attentive. Very happy that we took a chance and stopped in!
