Nielsen's Frozen Custard North Ogden

We ate at Nielsen's at 4pm on a Saturday. It was not super busy. You can order at the drive thru, at the walk up window, or inside. We ordered and ate inside. The young lady took our order accurately and recited it back to make sure it was correct. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, a pastrami burger, onion rings, and a concrete. She gave us good advice on which concrete (Custard) toppings to add. It took about 5 to 10 minutes to get our food, and our food was very fresh. Since we weren't ready for the concrete, we asked to have them keep it cold in the freezer for us so it didn't melt while we ate the food. The pastrami burger was excellent. The food is good, but really expensive. Fries, Burger and shake is about $20. FYI Don't ask for extra fry sauce at the window because it costs an extra $0.60 and they want to run your credit card for it. I feel like if you're spending almost $20 on a meal they should just throw an extra one in, if requested. The guy that took my order seemed ornery and also seemed like he was trying to force a fake voice when he was talking.

Giving the food 1 star because at the amount they charge I would expect better. The garden cheese burger barely had any lettuce on it. I’ve had burgers with the same price tag that tasted 10x better and didn’t look like they were thrown together. The onion rings were dry and overcooked. They tasted like they had been overcooked and sitting for a while. I won’t be buying food here anymore. The quality does not fit the high price tag.

This is a great contribution to the North Ogden scene. The custard is creamy and delicious, it doesn’t disappoint in all the varieties. If you go and don’t get custard then you do not understand what this place does best. They also have a pretty deep menu of food selection too. It was pretty fast and they were patient with all our custom requests. They had a lot of helpers and the option to order inside or outside. We’ll be back….

I have been waiting for over 15 minutes in the drive-through for my food. However, they gave me the custard items first so now both custard are melted and I’m still waiting for my food. There are a total of six cars waiting behind me that I could actually see when the lady came to bring out food for the car in front of me, I asked her how much longer it would be and she said two minutes, and I showed her how my customer was melted. She didn’t even consider to offer me a new custard and told me it should be about two minutes. It’s now been six.
