Newhart's Iron Horse Inn Bb

Newhart's Iron Horse Inn is in a beautiful, quiet area just a few miles outside of Gettysburg. It is very close to the new Visitor's Center and Museum at the Gettysburg Battle Field. If you would like to tour the battle fields and the town, then retreat from all the traffic and noise to a relaxing bed & breakfast in the country side, then Newhart's is for you. The "barn" is beautifully restored, by the owners Tom & Carol, and very well appointed. Our son's family was with us and we each had a master suite. We also had a 1/2 bath, a very large living room with fireplace, a large dining room and large kitchen and dining area. H- I am a scientist retired who has followed the science / risks of climate change for many years. We would never stay at this hotel. the owner does not believe that climate change is dangerous to all our children / grand-children. He stopped solar panels from being built. Shame on his ignorance. he should meet with scientists from one of Penna's great universities to discuss the risks from a hot planet.

We had 4 families, including 7 kids ranging in age from 6 to 15, parents and grandparents. Newhart's Civil War Farm was absolutely perfect. We took both buildings (main house and "barn"). We cooked breakfasts and one dinner en masse in the big house, had a great cookout dinner in the barn's picnic area, enjoyed the facilities: all the kids could sit together, leaving the adults to sit nearby at a "grown up table," and the grounds gave us the ability to let the kids go outside and play, leaving the adults to - well - enjoy being together as adults and not just parents. ||We were there for three nights and everyone had a blast. My husband and I traveled to the Gettyburg area for Rememberence Day weekend. We are regulars at Gettysburg and have stayed in many B&B's in the area. We traveled with friends and their children and stayed at Newhart's Inn for the first time. We had a wonderful stay at the inn. The kids loved the grounds and especially the cows and the firetruck. The houses are decorated beautifully and have that "at home" feel. The Newharts made us feel very welcome and cooked a wonderful breakfast each morning. We would highly recommend this inn to anyone wanting a quiet Bed & Breakfast within a short drive to the Gettysburg area. We will be making another trip to the inn again this fall.

I traveled with my elderly grandparents to Gettysburg for my grandfather's 80th birthday. We had an incredible time, and Newhart's inn was an incredible place to stay. I was looking for a home/B&B rental which could accomodate an elderly couple. Newhart's barn has two full bedrooms and bathrooms on the main floor, so my grandparents did not have to walk up and down stairs. Tom and Carol were very kind and always available to answer questions and concerns.
