New Castle Public Library

Lady at the front desk was screeching loudly gabbing with a friend for a solid 20 minutes, another guy constantly taking work phone calls, and when we tried to move to a quieter section upstairs because the main floor was too noisy the rude librarian stopped us because someone else was given the space and apparently only one person can work quietly at a time. The staff is grossly inconsiderate, it's as though they are unaware that they work at a library and social convention dictates that one ought to use "inside voices" and not treat it like social hour. Even after making a comment, she disregarded it and said it's a public space.. by that logic I might as well blast rap tunes in the middle of the library. The fact that her conduct was inappropriate was completely lost on her.

Wonderful, friendly staff. Small town feel. Delightful children’s section with lots of toys and games. We love taking my daughter here whenever we’re in town visiting family!
