So good! We’ve been meaning to try this spot for a while since we love The Shipwright’s Daughter. As a vegetarian, I was able to the get the mushroom and beet burger, which was a 10/10. Super flavorful and juicy! My boyfriend got the fish and chips, which is one of his favorite meals, and this one was top tier. The fish of the day was fluke, and he said it was very flavorful. Very well seasoned, great batter, good crunch without being too heavy. He just wishes he had one more good bite. Great vibe, great service, great branding, can’t wait to come back and get some merch too!
Came here for lunch and had a great time. Staff was incredibly friendly and fish was very fresh. Thank you so much Kim for being so informative with us and touching tables to see how everything was going. It was great talking to you! We ordered a variety of items from the Tartare, fish and chips (mermaid fries; seasoning was so good), monkfish roll, oyster fritters, and the special of the day, Mussel chowder. Everything tasted great in addition to the variety and dip sauces available. The sugar kelp hot sauce was incredible. Ended up asking the chef to buy some to take home. It was nice having a board showing what the fresh catches were and which fishing vessel supplied it. They had a type for each preparation method. The substitute change in the lobster roll for monkfish worked really
All I can say is I left a happy camper! I only took pics of the Yellowfin Tuna Mortadella sandwich, and green crab bisque which had giant monkfish chunks. We also tried their burger (my boyfriend ate it in four bites, too fast for me to take a photo of), oyster fritters which were surprisingly light and a little sweet. And the mermaid fries were addicting. You should go there while it’s still the off season, seating is limited, but I can see on a nice day taking your order out to the boardwalk by the drawbridge and eating by the water.
Best fish sandwich. Full flavor. Frying the food in beef tallow was a nice option to have and was the reason i found them on Seed Oil Scout. Loved that they show what local boats caught the fish and that all fish is sourced within 10 miles of mystic. Will be back for the 3-5pm happy hour. It’s $15-25 a person, portions were large and was very full.
Service is top notch for this new eating establishment! Their knowledge and creativity take their menu to the next level. Fried clam strips with their basil tarter is delicious. The fried fish sandwich was amazing and the presentation was spot on.
