Located inside City Station, a large religious complex that looks like a hospital. It houses the Southern Hills church, their daycare, a fitness center, “covenant housing” for college students and more and the cafe serves fresh food for breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch. We stopped in on a Tuesday, right as they were switching from breakfast to lunch, and although we were the only people there, it still took an hour to get our food and we had to take it to go. The food was solid, but nothing too memorable, decent sized portions. The menu is interesting, with traditional lunch classic sandwiches and hamburgers mixed with some interesting international items as well. I have to give a shout out to the biscuit beignets - fried biscuit balls served with strawberry or caramel sauce. These th
I had the Nicaraguan Plate. I was so looking forward to it but was extremely disappointed. The chicken came back shriveled and hard as a hockey puck. The “salad” had nothing but vinegar doused on top. The tostones were made with really small plantains and were not salted. Clearly someone went to Nicaragua and saw a plate of food and thought that they could reproduce it. I had to try and eat it because I was with a group and didn’t want to ruin their meal. But I finally gave up because the meat was so tough that it was poking the inside of my mouth. Avoid the Nicaraguan Plate at all cost. The waiter was nice but it took a very long time to take our order and get our food.
I absolutely love this place and I was only there once. The food is delicious, I feel like I'm apart of that anime series called "Food Wars." The workers there are really nice! Very professional. Thank you for my delicious food, I'll definitely be back again next time!
This is definitely a place to try and give a second chance if you’re on the fence. I enjoyed my food, but it wasn’t unforgettably good. However, I want to go back for breakfast to give it another chance. We didn’t realize they quit serving breakfast so we had to get lunch when we went. That’s our fault for not reading the times though. The service was great and the restaurant is pretty. It is inside a big church/daycare also but the building overall is very nice.
Great experience. The broccoli cheddar soup was delicious. The Thai chicken salad was made to perfection. Service is super friendly. Highly recommend checking them out.
